Good morning, Search Marketer, Meta is once again shifting its Reels strategy.
At launch, Meta's Reels bonus program promised to pay its top creators up to $35,000 a month. But as of March 31, those payments will be no more.
The pause is expected to last for several months while Meta reviews its policies and works on improving the Reels experience. During this time, they will also focus on providing better support and resources to Reels creators. Though it's not known yet what those improvements will look like.
It's still possible to earn revenue through other monetization features on the platform, but the constant flip-flopping could frustrate creators, advertisers and brands looking for consistency and predictability in their content strategies.
