PayPal's payments volume roars back in Q2

What to read today: Microsoft is reportedly in talks to buy TikTok's US operations. Apple just announced its 5th stock split in history. Here's what that means — and how many shares you'd have if you bought one before its first split in 1987. Public opinion on big tech execs swung wildly after their day in congress. Jeff Bezos is up, Sundar Pichai is down. And much more.
July 31, 2020
Hi Folks.
PayPal recorded $222 billion in total payments volume in Q2 2020, surging 30% year-over-year.
Digital payments have taken on new importance during the pandemic since consumers are trying to limit their potential exposure to the virus, propelling PayPal's performance.

This led PayPal's number of daily active accounts to climb 37% annually and reach a level of usage for the full quarter that's comparable to the usage it experiences during the high-volume period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.

The swelling user bases of PayPal's services should help it successfully develop and grow its offerings because it has millions more consumers and merchants in its ecosystem.
